I have had the privilege to work with musicians of all ages in educational settings throughout my career. I greatly enjoy helping others to become better musicians.
I have taught private saxophone lessons to numerous students throughout my career. I pride myself on really listening to what the student's needs and goals are and do my best to guide them in achieving their goals. I consider myself to be easy going and I always remain positive when teaching private students.
I am comfortable working with students of all ages and skill levels. I have taught students as young as middle school up through retired adults who may not have played their instrument for many years and want to begin playing music again.
I am willing to work on aspects of music that the student would like to improve upon as well as aspects that I feel that will benefit them the most. Some of these include:
I have had the opportunity to work with many local and regional school groups in a variety of settings. From a small group of woodwind players to a full ensemble, I can make the most of the time we have together and teach young musicians how to become better players in a relaxed, positive environment.
I have had the opportunity to be a judge for several assessment and competition events. I have judged solo and ensemble festivals, school district jazz assessments, and other events of this type. I enjoy listening to young musicians and providing them with positive feedback and constructive comments on how they can continue to grow as musicians.
